This Bag of Holding is pretty much what it sounds like, a simple black leather messenger bag that holds about ten times what it seems like it could, and always weighs five pounds no matter what you put into it. Anything that can fit inside the opening can be carried in it, even if it would ordinarily not fit into the bag in terms of length. If it is searched by a non-mage, only the items designated as ‘seen’ will be detected within.
Attached to the bag is a mischievous persona, a Gremlin named Pyrix, who is some sort of faerie spirit (chimera) who somehow, accidentally, got woven into the bag when Taryn unwittingly bought fae-touched materials for use in the project. She was trying to push past her known limits in making this, and has since learned how to make the item properly (without gremlins), but she can’t bring herself to destroy the old one, even if the impish Pyrix does drive her crazy sometimes. He mostly offers snarky commentary on her life, as she’s the only one (as far as she knows) who can see him.

She has other pistols at her family’s house, in a gun locker, but these are the ones she keeps on hand. She also has swords that are really only good for bashing damage since they’re metal replicas, and several hunting knives of various sizes and configurations. Girl’s a little paranoid.

Projects and plans in progress
- Alchemy ●● : Liquid Drinkbot Matrix — See “Kura.”
- Enchantment ●● : The Drinkbot, “Kura” — named for the restaurant in which she saw the cute little drinkbot that brings drinks to people’s tables. Taryn’s version will synthesize its own materials from a liquid matrix (made with Alchemy) and create whatever beverage the drinker wants. At the moment, the holdup is in how to make the drink matrix work, as it’s currently coming out in weird colors.
- Enchantment ● : Hunter, the Girls’ Best Friend — A ‘personal toy’ designed to respond to the user’s body motions and reactions and change speed, force, and such. Modeled after the many images floating around of Hunter Biden’s penis.
- Enchantment ●● : Spirit Goggles — These are goggles that allow you to see into the spirit world, with a heads-up display along the edges to identify what spirits you’re seeing. (Mimics Ephemera 1)
- Enchantment ●●● : Universal Translator — This is enchanted onto a headset, or onto a dongle that fits into a convenient port on a laptop or tablet. (It morphs to fit the appropriate port.) It will provide instantaneous translation for you of whatever someone is saying to, or around, you. It can only translate one language at a time, however, and it does not translate what you say back to them. You can, however, make more than one and provide them to each party in a conversation.
Other Details
- Car: Taryn drives a metal-flake-cobalt-blue F-150 that shows some sign of wear and tear, but is well-loved. It has several bumper stickers including one that reads, “Keep honking, I’m reloading.” Others include science geekery and fandom slogans and images, along with a big holographic d20 on her back window.
- Enchantment and Alchemy items: Taryn owns one of every permanent magic item she can make, and several of the ‘batch’ items. All of the remedy/enhancement consumables are kept in a special kit in her Bag of Holding.
- Eagle-Eye Pistol grip: one is attached to each of her pistols.
- Enhanced Bullets: one magazine’s worth for each of her firearms.
- Favor Candle: She owns one right now set for Resources in case she needs money in a hurry.
- Personal Mark Charms: Attached to each of her Wonders and her Bag of Holding.

- Family: The Vicente family is well-known among Etherites as being gifted Sorcerers, particularly in Alchemy. Her superior in skill is her elder cousin Damon who currently lives in LA, who has a doctorate in Chemistry. She wound up in the Society of Ether more by family connection than anything else, and came upon her love of tech more through her appreciation for firearms than anything else. She’s handy at all kinds of crafting, though.
- Musical tastes: Taryn generally likes music older than she is, and isn’t hugely fond of modern mumble rap. You can bring her to tears with Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton.
- Various awards and recognition:
- Taryn has a Master’s degree from CalTech in Physics, summa cum laude.
- She also has a shelf full of awards from shooting competitions from the age of ten or so onward.
- She also has a selection of trophies from convention cosplay competitions, specifically for her more outlandish outfits. Her Ellen-Ripley-in-an-exoskeleton was a big winner and her steampunk outfits always attract positive attention, including the one where she had her own mini-balloon robot following her around. (A modified drone.)
- View of Sleepers: Taryn very much wants to see the Sleepers get a grip on themselves and help the world get ready for the changes magic could give. She is generally a hopeful person, and despite her gun-nut status, is very progressive in her politics.
