Rules of the Anywhere Café

Here are the basic rules about the café:

  1. Leave your beefs at the door. There is room outside for fights if you really gotta, but we keep things peaceful inside the Café. Peace will be maintained at any cost.
  2. No Fallen, no Enemies of Ascension. If you bring someone here who isn’t a mage or a local spirit, they had better be friendly.
    1. Faeries/Changelings are almost always welcome.
    2. Werewolves are generally not welcome, with rare exceptions. Bastet, Kitsune, and other shifters who can appreciate magic, however, are welcome.
  3. Payment for food, drink, and services is expected promptly. Regulars can run a tab and pay at the end of the night or week, depending. Tips for servers are always welcome!
  4. Payment can be done in the form of Tass, magical items, mundane cash, e-cash or transfer, or other negotiables like precious gems and metals. If you have no valuables to work with, you can work off your tab with magic or service work helping in the kitchen or waiting tables. (We’ll train you.)
  5. Manners matter. Or, in simpler and more direct terms, don’t be an asshole. Your server staff are not mundanes – they can be mages, spirits, or other entities, and they are far from defenseless. You can and will be kicked out for being a dick to your server. As for arguments among patrons, we ask that they be kept verbal and brief. If you’re going to get into a huge debate, take it outside.
  6. Crimes against a person’s autonomy will be punished with death. Rape, mental rape, magical coercion, binding a spirit or chimera against its will, assault or battery, and murder or attempts at same will be punished immediately and harshly. Note that vampires may wind up being welcome in specific cases, and feeding on the willing is not a crime against autonomy. You have been warned. No other warning is forthcoming.
  7. When you take it outside, it’s no longer our problem. If you get killed after you picked a fight, we’ll notify your cabal/loved ones and return your remains, but that’s the extent of our responsibility. It’s always best to be cool and not get into fights.
  8. Training and practice fighting is okay outside, not inside. If you’re having a friendly spar or teaching someone something, be sure to request a perimeter ward from the barkeep so you can keep the action under control.
  9. Soliciting for jobs for mages to undertake is perfectly okay. Adventurers, this is for you!
  10. Over 18 only. For the sake of Chance’s sanity, we are not playing any children here.
  11. So long as you follow the rules, you’re welcome.
